Ironman Coeur d'Alene, ID 2008

Coeur d'Alene Full Ironman. I’m on another Ironman trip up to Coeur d’Alene, ID (that’s in northern ID near Spokane, WA.) This time I got picked up in Denver in the big truck
with Les (in Montana in this pic) and Lawrence (napping after his turn drivng.) We’ve seen the sun go down and come back up, lots of antelope, deer and prairie dogs. You know, I like traveling, no matter what the mode of tranny is! The drive was a beautiful one. This Ironman is staged in a park right next to this cool lake. The water temp has been in the mid to upper 70's each day. A little chilly when th wind blows.

Before we got to the Expo site (the place where we work all week)we had to pick up some boxed bikes at the hotel. As you can see the truck was rather full. We had to use Gators to get th stuff from the street to the tent. Once unloaded we stayed pretty busy.
Lawrence loved his new pump! Les checking out a steam engine on the way to dinner. Ahhhh...dinner! Most of the gang ate out once or twice. We were late enough we had to almost beg them to keep the kitchen open.

Lawrence messing with Gary on the way down to the Expo.

Bill sat down just a minute too long at the end of the day.
we blocked him in with bikes.

One of the pro's bikes. Purdy!

We never got rained on really, but it came close near the end of the day on Saturday. A big wind storm came in off the lake.

Here is Ed playing on a piece of training equip at the end of the day. The pedals move independently. It's hard to ride.

Cid Jr raced this race. It was 20th Ironman. He came in 8th in his age group which entitles him a spot at the Kona race in Oct. Congrats to him! (I forgot to get a picture of him). I saw him right after the race, but I was on my way to the vip dinner but didn't even think about a pic then.

I reckon my belly was thinking for me after being the tech support vehicle all day! By the way, Thanks to my driver Robert. He did a great job with him dog Bellle as a co pilot. He took me by this place which was on the course, look closely at the prices.

Potty on the race course?

On the way home in the truck I we were all pooped. I only took a few pics. This one was for Les. He liked the palms at the Sinclair. I think it was in MT.

A WY sunset trucker style.

Til the next one...July 9th! RI and NY back to back.
